The Restaurant in San Cristobal de las Casas, next to Casa Lum boutique hotel, features a variety of dishes of the highest Contemporary cuisine with a touch of reinterpretation by our chef, who manages to merge the regional flavors and local ingredients with the latest trends in gastronomy.
The contemporary Mexican style, as well as traces of its past are always present at Casa Lum´s Restaurant, starting with its interior design interacting with every element of its décor, creating an atmosphere that mixes present elements in harmony with vintage notes.
The “Cuarto de las Ranas” (The Frogs Room), situated in the lower level, is dedicated to folk art with its centerpiece. The defining feature of this mural are the clay frogs created expressly for Casa Lum by artisan hands of Amatenango del Valle, a community dedicated to pottery, agriculture and textiles. In the Maya culture, the croaking of frogs announces the arrival of the rain. Companions of Chaac, god of rain and thunder, frogs were and will always be a symbol of life and fertility.
Wether in the “Cuarto de las Ranas”, in the loft, or on the walkway with the view of the Guadalupe Church and the cathedral, sitting at one of our tables will be a feast for the senses.
